Luminescence lifetimes indicate electronic transitions of singlet parentage, where transitions are allowed. A TD-DFT study determined the contributions of individual singlet-singlet electronic excitations to the fluorescence, indicating that metal- intraligand transitions are responsible for luminescence in both complexes.
